Robert Paulin was born in New York City. He graduated from J.H.S. 141 in Queens. After graduating from Julia Richman High School, he started working for Columbia University, where he has worked for the last 23 years. He is married to Leslie Paulin, the cheerleader coach and board member for Gladiator Sports. Robert is the proud father of 10 children and six grandchildren.
Robert has always loved basketball since he was child growing in Harlem. Rob can talk about basketball for hours as he is a pro and college basketball historian. He still plays in several leagues around the city. He introduced the game of basketball to his 4 sons in the Summer of 1998. He got into coaching at the NYC Bomb Squad tournament and itched to continue year round. Rob heard of a Saturday basketball program that ran in the winter and was intrigued.
In October 1998, Rob joined the voluteer staff of the Kennedy Center Saturday Basketball program. He started with the younger children, teaching them the basics of the game of basketball. To his credit, Rob has coached 2 championship teams. Rob is always sharing his knowledge of game with every age group. Rob was inducted into the Gladiator Sports Hall of Fame in 2004.
